We've seen new polling numbers in swing states. We've seen the new national numbers. The DNC gave Obama a bounce. Romney's amateur hour is far, far worse than we thought. The fundraising tape is a gift that will keep giving. He has managed to piss off tons of people. Paul Ryan went to the AARP convention and bombed. And then there is Mitt's tax issue.
Well its time to play power politics and use some nice old fashioned wedge politics against Gov. Dumbass. See, the GOP loves to divide the electorate against each other and the likes of Lee Atwater loved to play very dirty. And when your opponent is busy self destructing, stay out of the way. And as his campaign implodes, you help his Party by handing them an anvil. And Romney is an anvil that keeps giving.
In the article from Opposing View points the writer states:
Romney also uses his broad brush to indict those who hardly deserve such treatment, despite receiving aid. Consider, as a few examples, the list below of folks who may get some kind of direct public support:
Seniors
Military veterans
The permanently disabled
For Romney to imply that such people are looking for an unearned handout seems, to me, biting the hands that feeds him, considering who is among his strongest base of support. Granted, they may not jump ship and vote for Obama, but if they were on the fence about voting that all, such stereotypes could tip the scales against him.
Emphasis added by me.
There is still a major card to be played that could also tip the scales of a large Republican constituency into not voting and that is the Evangelical Christians. What is that card? Stericycle.
Back in July, The Washington Post had an article discussing a possible evangelical enthusiasm gap. So he already had that issue, but given the staggering number of abortion related bills that the states passed in the last two years, one could conclude that abortion is still a hot topic for Republicans.
So we come back to Stericycle. Profiting from abortion is a sin for many evangelical voters. Romney invested in a company that does profit in some way from abortions. Romney's position on abortion has moved like a squirrel on caffeine.
Here is a link to a map of evangelical voting for 2008.
Kentucky - 45% evangelical - 77% went for McCain
Missouri - 38% evangelical - 67% McCain
Indiana - 41% evangelical - 66%McCain
Ohio - 30% evangelical - 70% McCain
Tennessee - 51% evangelical - 75% McCain
So a little radio advertising or some leaflets by a third party might change turnout from a group that already suspects Mitt Romney. The GOP has used abortion as an issue for decades. This isn't just about the presidential campaign, but down ballot races. Turn it against them. They wanted abortion to play a role gaining power and now it can used as a bludgeon against them. The poster boy for Republican greed is their leader. And he always puts profits first.
I call this Karma.
