Today is the last day of summer. Appropriately it managed to reach 94F here in north east Oklahoma.
I don't know what folk generally do to celebrate the first day of Fall, but I spent last year on a Motorcycle Rally, and this year am doing the same.
Details, for those interested, lie beneath the orange roadkill.
Oklahoma is divided into quadrants by I35 running north to south, and 140 east to west. They cross in Oklahoma City.
The point of this Rally is that you have to visit bonus locations where you need to take a photograph, perform a task, etc.
You cannot collect successive bonuses from the same quadrant!
There is an upper and lower mileage limit of 1400 and 1000 respectively. The Rally duration is twenty eight hours and must include a rest stop of at least four hours. Good points are available for up to six hours.
My route is shown below. It wiggles around Oklahoma for a while before dropping into Texas to visit the Dallas Cowboys Stadium, and the Allen Eagles Football Field ... I should be there in the late evning, early morning hours so hopefully the traffic will be light.
During the Rally I will be carrying a SPOT location device.
If you are interested, or just curious you can come along for the ride. SPOT should go active around 8 am central.
Wish me and my fellow competitors luck, and however you spend your weekend ... be safe :)
