The Very Terrible gaffe of mitt romney, his "dean scream" moment was certainly bad enough and the village press was astute in orchestrating a narrative around the idea of "freeloaders", which reinforces the current conservative/republican narrative.
but, if you look at a "metamessage" analysis of the statements, taken into context with the audience he is speaking to, you realize that the root of the message, the "eigenvalue" of the series of equations that his statements entail are malthusian, in toto, and completely in line with the rhetoric of the tea party movement.
which is, of course, the modern manifestation of the conservative agenda.
Prima Facie
"They are entitled to healthcare, to food, to housing. . .
"
Which, in communication structure analysis,
"They are NOT entitled to healthcare, to food, to housing
NO ONE IS ENTITLED TO HEALTHCARE TO FOOD TO HOUSING!!!
This is the crux of the conservative/oligarchy message.
pull yourself up by your own bootstraps. you either live in wealth and opulance by the grace of the divine or you are not one of the chosen.
If you are not granted the means to survive based on your labor in this world, it is your PREDESTINATION to starve and die.
this is the ideology of the rich.
in class warfare, the poor talk about taking the wealthy's resources and the wealthy talk about exterminating the poor.
and this is the real dialogue and what is being glazed over by the village pundits.
