Moneychangers, coins and origins are explored by rmonroe in his "Photo History of Money" series, linked below.
Every now and then when I've gathered together some of my favorite links after strolling the Aisles of Orange, I toss them together for a Positively Awesome thread. And here you have one today.
Some awesome new series:
- A great educational series: rmonroe is authoring a detailed Photo History of Money, with the most recent installment focused on Imperial Rome.
- A tremendous, practical, ongoing series on dealing with the life of being suddenly and unexpectedly unemployed, Corporate Life in the Rearview Mirror is a must-read, not just for the laid off (or those nervous about being laid off), but for friends and family too. Diarist cassandracarolina in the linked sample diary from the series above, goes over the basics: what to say to the newly unemployed, what's helpful and what's not, dealing with past customers, and a detailed look at the unraveling of the corporate covenant in general.
- Drop in on the Monday Murder Mystery series run by Readers & Book Lovers. I'm not sure why, but autumn always brings on the urge to grab a cup of tea, pull up to the fire with a comforter and a cat, and read a great whodunnit. This is a great series to find some new reads.
And then there are some one-off gems I stumbled upon, showing the incredibly wide range of interests reflected by the authors and readers that gather regularly in this community:
