The King Biscuit Blues Festival in Helena, Arkansas, is my big campout every year. For four days I enjoy music, play music, visit friends, and have a generally superlative time. I will leave tomorrow after rehearsal for the Jazz/Pop Vocals group at ASU. The festival is October 4, 5, 6 with a bevy of after parties on Sunday October 7. Me, I head home. By Sunday I'm too tired to party.
Some of the friends that I get together with every year at The Biscuit are musicians. Collectively we are The Emporium Orkestra, named after Bunky's Emporium, our traditional venue. On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday mornings during the festival we play true acoustic with no PA or mics for the early morning coffee drinkers up and about. Jug Band Music is our staple but we play old time Blues, Country, Folk, Dylan, The Dead, even The Beatles. We host an open stage and anyone can join in or take a turn.
I live for this stuff.

Here's the show where we played "Beedle Um Bum" from 2006 with Rhode Island Red and myself performing as a duo. This is my most popular show on the Live Music Archive.
Hairy Larry and Rhode Island Red Live at Bunkys Breakfast, Helena Arkansas on October 5, 2006
And here's a show from 2010 with several of us rotating on and off the stage.
The Emporium Orkestra Live at Bunky's Emporium on October 7, 2010
Please enjoy the music and if you're at The Biscuit stop by and see me. Besides playing on Cherry Street Thursday, Friday, and Saturday mornings I will be at The Wild Hog Saloon Wednesday night for a Blues Jam and I will be playing around the campfires at Fireman's Campground over the levee.
Thanks,
Hairy Larry
