Well, he's done it again.

Rep. Chip Cravaack released a new ad today, and once again he's lying to his constituents -repeating false claims on Medicare which have been  referred to as "misleading", "ridiculous" and "nonsensical" by many independent news outlets, lying about his position on Medicare and lying about his DFL endorsed challenger former Congressman Rick Nolan

The Nolan campaign Tuesday fired back, with campaign manager Mike Misterek calling Cravaack out for once again lying to his constituents:

In his latest campaign ad, Congressman Chip Cravaack is looking voters in the eye and lying to them not only about Rick Nolan’s position on Medicare, but about his own record on Medicare.

The truth is, Rick Nolan will strongly fight to always honor the promise made to Americans who have spent their lives paying into the system by strengthening Medicare and making sure it’s there for future generations.

The $700 billion in Medicare ‘cuts’ Cravaack mentions in this latest ad do not cut benefits and will not reduce care for seniors at all. In fact, Cravaack voted for the same amount of cuts twice as part of the Ryan budget, and went a step further by voting to turn Medicare into a voucher system for the private insurance companies.

When it comes to protecting Medicare there is a clear choice in this election – between Rick Nolan who wants to preserve and protect it for future generations and Chip Cravaack who enthusiastically supports the Ryan plan, which ends Medicare as we know it and increases costs for seniors by $6,400 per year.

It’s time for Congressman Cravaack to stop the lies and be straightforward with his constituents about his plan to turn Medicare over to private insurance companies.

It sure didn't take long for Congressman Cravaack to become just another Washington politician who will do and say anything to get elected.

Chip Cravaack has a lot to learn about northern Minnesota values. Lying to constituents is bad enough, but using your own father to do so is beneath contempt, the lowest of the low. And someone this desperate to hide the truth must truly be terrified at the prospect of facing an honest person in a public forum.

No wonder Cravaack's campaign is afraid former Congressman Rick Nolan will clean Chip's clock in a debate.

Please help DFL/Labor/Kos endorsed Rick Nolan fight back by sending a contribution in any amount. Thank you!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
