Paul Sadler is a life long Texas Democrat who has taken the extraordinary step to run for US Senate in a state everyone has written off and left for dead in the Conservative wasteland. Paul is one of the most intelligent and plain spoken people I know . I have known him for twenty five years through many ups and downs of family , civic and social interactions, and  he has always been the strong, forceful, and serious person he is today.
He has the courage and foresight we need in the Senate, and he has a very weak opponent in Ted Cruz. Many open minded Republicans and Independents are considering voting for Paul once they have a chance to compare the two candidates side by side.
Paul Sadler is not new to politics , he served in the Texas House of representatives for 10 years and was regarded as one of the most intelligent , fair and progressive members of that body . He was instrumental in revamping the Texas education code to start the long process of catching Texas up to the rest of the nation , working across the aisle with republicans Bill Ratliff and Governor George Bush.
Paul is an accomplished lawyer and very capable of handling Ted Cruz one on one in this election. He has been working for the last several years for the Texas Wind Energy coalition and is well versed in the energy economy that is critical for the success of Texas and the country.
Paul Sadler can win this race , but not withuot national help . Ted Cruz would be a disaster for Texas and the nation

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
