Noun:
An unintentional act or remark causing embarrassment to its originator; a blunder
Joe Biden is a gaffe machine. That is not in dispute. But to call what Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan and Todd Akin say gaffes is a misunderstanding of the meaning of the word. Biden's most recent gaffe was to reiterate the lament of the struggles of the middle class. Throughout his career, Biden has fought for the middle class, in his debates, legislation, voting record. Compare that with Romney's 47% remark. His record indicates he was speaking from his convictions, not a simple blunder. Paul Ryan's record also exposes his true attitude about "the 30%." And when Akin continues to speak about women, he isn't gaffing; he is speaking his truth, his beliefs.
