I went 11-4 last week and I am 28-18 for the season. Last week saw some good games, some tight games, and some true stinkers. Houston looked strong while Arizona and Atlanta survived to stay unbeaten. There are a few teams on the verge of falling apart...I won't name any names.
A quarter of the season is gone; October should be fun!
Picks are below:
Arizona (4-0) at St. Louis (2-2) – Potential Powerhouse at Still Not Sure What to Make of You
I am conflicted on this pick. It’s a short week and the Cards had to come back to beat the Dolphins. The Rams beat a game Seahawks team. When in doubt go with the home team on a short week and by home team I mean the current residents not the former ones. Pick: Rams
Miami (1-3) at Cincinnati (3-1) They are CURSED! at Super Sophs
I like the Dolphins. They are at least one made FG from being 2-2 or a Defensive stand from being 3-1, but they’re 1-3. The Bengals are solid. I’d like to pick the ‘Phins, but can’t, they don’t have enough yet. Pick: Bengals
Green Bay (2-2) at Indianapolis (1-2) Living Dangerously at Rebuilding Nicely
The Pack flirted with disaster last week, but greatly impacted my Fantasy team, THANK YOU AARON! I like Andrew Luck but not in this game. Mr. Matthews and you are going to be close this game, but not friendly. Pick: Packers
Baltimore (3-1) at Kansas City (1-3) The Contenders at Lost in the MidWest
The Ravens’ D is looking a bit old, but the O is picking up the slack. The Chiefs are a mess, but J Charles is making fantasy owners happy. I am always worried about games like this with the Ravens. They throw a clunker out there now and again. This could be a trap (Admiral Ackbar would not approve!) Pick: Ravens
Atlanta (4-0) at Washington (2-2) Regular Season Dominants at The Wonderboys
The Falcons are good. The NFC South belongs to them. However, the ‘Skins strike me as dangerous especially at home. This is a good test for the Falcons, but I’m going to take the home team. Pick: Redskins
Cleveland (0-4) at NY Giants (2-2) Terrible at Sleeping until Nov
I could be flippant, but won’t. Cleveland deserves better but I can’t pick an upset in this game. The Giants will round into form by the end of the month once they get healthier. Pick: Giants
Philadelphia (3-1) at Pittsburgh (1-2) Driving people Nuts at Old & Rusty
The Steelers get a lot of old tired players back this week. The Eagles managed to not turn the ball over! I’m not sure that the Rust bucket Steelers will get better this week, but they could make strides. Pick: Eagles
Seattle (2-2) at Carolina (1-3) Northwest Deceivers at Can You Close a Game?
The Seahawks didn’t string together wins and the Panthers found a way to lose. A west coast team on the east coast for an early game is a nightmare. Will the Panthers have a hangover this game? I’ll take the home team. Pick: Panthers
Chicago (3-1) at Jacksonville (1-3) Midways’ Monsters at Awful
I swear Cutler is within a hair of getting some itching powder poured in his jock. This is a mismatch on paper, but will the Bears have a hangover from beating the Cowboys down? The Jags are injured and without depth. They don’t match up well. Cutler with a severe case of jock itch during the game is the Jags best hope. Pick: Bears
Tennessee (1-3) at Minnesota (3-1) How Bad are They at Better than Expected
We had a Chris Johnson sighting! Fantasy owners are angry because they have no clue if it was a onetime thing or resurgence. The Vikings are surprising in a much better way. Titans appear to be going in circles and the Viking heading up. Pick: Vikings
Denver (2-2) at New England (2-2) Not Washed Up at Roman Empire
Imperial Rome made a second half recovery and showed its firepower. The Broncos reminded everyone that the Raiders are the Raiders. But Rome is home this weekend and though not fully armed, its operational battle station is enough to hold off Peyton & Co. Pick: The Empire
Buffalo (1-3) at San Francisco (3-1) Overrated at We will kick you’re a$$!
One got a beat down last week; the other mugged a team in New Jersey. All that money the Bills paid for D isn’t paying off. The Niners aren’t explosive, but they will contain the Bills Pick: Niners
San Diego (3-1) at New Orleans (0-4) Still don’t trust You at Wait for next year!
Crowded House had a famous song, “Don’t Dream its Over” well it’s over this season in New Orleans. However, they are not a bad team, just not a playoff team this season. I believe in Drew and not Philip. Pick: Saints
Houston (4-0) at NY Jets (2-2) – Great Expectations at Potential Junk Heap
The J E T S have no offensive weapons and were offensive to watch last week. The Texans looked flat at times against the Titans. I’m thinking this gets ugly early. Sanchez gets whacked by Cushing and Tebow plays most of the game. It won’t be pretty and it’ll be a nationally televised mauling. Pick: Texans
BYE: Dallas, Detroit, Oakland, Tampa Bay
