I Vote for Democrats. I am a liberal, I have progressive values, and I say it with pride. I am voting for Democrats in the election this year, and I am doing it with pride. I do it because I care, and I cannot stand by and not support the people and the party that is working for me. There are things that I want from my president and party, and there are things that I expect they can actually deliver. As long as the gap between the two continues to get smaller, I will continue to wholeheartedly support the President and our party.
When I watch all of the nasty ads on TV and see the narrow minded, hateful signs at GOP rallies I know that I am not voting for the "lesser of two evils". I am not voting against the hate and the ignorance and the selfishness of the Republican party. I am voting for everything that they are against because it is the right thing to do. The right thing for women. For the middle class. For minorities. For the poor. For the planet. For the sick. For veterans. For marriage equality. For civil rights.
For what is right.
Jan. 20, 2009 “President-elect Barack Obama was about to walk out to take the oath of office. Backstage at the U.S. Capitol, he took one last look at his appearance in the mirror.”
We are now getting to the point in the campaign where, IMO, everyone that has already not made up their mind needs to do a gut check. There is no question as to what party is better for 99% of of America, so as we come across any undecideds I think it is important to be positive. The best way to convince these people of something that I suspect deep down inside they already know is to be enthusiastic and speak from your heart. At the bottom of this diary are links to many more diaries with many facts and figures and charts and graphs. That may help, but as I said we are at at the passion point here.
Stay upbeat, keep your eye on the prize, and remember what is at stake.
Here are a few of the more memorable and important accomplishments over the past few years. There was so much accomplished, this is by no means an all inclusive list, just a few for inspiration. :)
