This is short and to the point as we still have only conjecture as to what Romney would actually do as president (other than sprinkling magic conservative pixie dust to make us all think things are not what they appear, global warming for example.).
Romney's most specific statement with regard to his policy as president in last night's debate was that he would eliminate funding to public broadcasting.
His willingness to lie about every conceivable issue was demonstrated in full. He did his best to appear different from the Mitt Romney that he had demonstrated so clearly in private audiences with major donors and throughout his career as a no-holds-barred screw-the-worker life with Bain.
His most specific point, that of eliminating public broadcasting did make his position on all other things very clear. Public broadcasting has been a bright light in our lives as thinking, caring human beings, but it has also been a flash point in the conservative war on culture. His attack on public broadcasting is quite telling. Since he won't get specific with regards to anything else, we must demand that he do so. Will the National Endowment for the Arts also be on his chopping block, as well as all those programs that have actually advanced American culture? You can bet on it.
