"Don't mourn, organize!" is an expression often incorrectly supposed to be the last words spoken by activist and songwriter Joe Hill, who was charged with murder and executed in Utah in 1915.wikepedia
In truth, the expression is part of a telegram sent to Bill Haywood, in which Joe wrote, "Goodbye, Bill, I die like a true blue rebel. Don't waste any time mourning. Organize!" It wasn't Joe's last telegram; he sent another in which he implored Haywood, "Could you arrange to have my body hauled to the state line to be buried? I don't want to be found dead in Utah."
So the President blew one last night. I watched and thought he did ok, but I see
through the eyes of a partisan. Even Greg Sargent says "Romney won big. Here’s what to watch for next."
Romney lied and etch-a-sketched. Obama forgot the need for theater, for forcefully confronting a liar.
So many of us, including me, are a bit down. But we cannot afford to be down. This election is too important. This election is NOT about Barack Obama. It's about all of us.
WE HAVE TO WIN NO MATTER HOW OBAMA DOES IN DEBATES.
Barack Obama is a quick study and he learns from mistakes. He'll be better in the next debates.
But WE have to do all we can to make sure Obama wins.
The campaign needs money:
Help build this movementJoe Hill Knew he was going to die and he said:
What we do right now will determine the course of this election.
Make a donation today and build the grassroots organization it will take to win.
Don't waste any time mourning. Organize! It's another aspect of the same struggle. The 1% vrs the 99%. The rich vrs the rest of us.
We can't afford to bitch and moan about Obama's performance.
Organize, contribute, volunteer.
We still are winning and we need to fight. It's never easy. But we can prevail over Romney.
