Romney has breathed some life into his nearly deceased campaign.  There's no doubt about that.  He has fired up his base and he's won back some of the punditry.  He is no longer a dead candidate walking.  So, I hope he sent President Obama a thank you this morning, because the only reason Romney won last night is because Obama didn't fight back.

Obama probably has a lot of reasons for not fighting back last night.  By now we can all probably list them, because we were all wondering aloud last night why it happened.  But whatever the reasons, the bottom line is, he has absolutely no reason to have a repeat performance in the next 2 debates.

Having seen Romney's debates there is no doubt in my mind that he is incapable of winning a debate with Obama if Obama actually decides to... oh, i don't know...   try to win the debate.  Which is why so many of us went to bed pissed at Obama last night.

I mean, yeah, we're not THAT pissed, because in EVERY OTHER way Obama is cleaning Romney's clock in this election.  But Obama could have ended this election last night and he didn't.  Clearly, it was a mistake.  One that he'll have to make up for.  Energy and money will have to be spent to make up for the loss last night.  That really sucks.

Anyway.  We got your back, Obama.  Which is why you are feeling a lot of kicks from behind this morning.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
