You can't seriously think that no one would notice. Unless of course, the contempt you showed for so many Americans in the 47% tape goes even deeper than we thought. No such thing as a bad lie in the pursuit of power, Governor?
It may come as a surprise, but most people don't agree with that philosophy. Including the man you are running against. He thinks the American people deserve better.
“We had our first debate last night. And when I got onto the stage, I met this very spirited fellow who claimed to be Mitt Romney. But it couldn’t have been Mitt Romney—because the real Mitt Romney has been running around the country for the last year promising $5 trillion in tax cuts that favor the wealthy. The fellow on stage last night said he didn’t know anything about that.
“The real Mitt Romney said we don’t need any more teachers in our classrooms. But the fellow on stage last night, he loves teachers—can’t get enough of them. The Mitt Romney we all know invested in companies that were called ‘pioneers’ of outsourcing jobs to other countries. But the guy on stage last night, he said that he doesn’t even know that there are such laws that encourage outsourcing—he’s never heard of them. Never heard of them. Never heard of tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas. He said that if it’s true, he must need a new accountant. Now, we know for sure it was not the real Mitt Romney, because he seems to be doing just fine with his current accountant.
“So you see, the man on stage last night, he does not want to be held accountable for the real Mitt Romney’s decisions and what he’s been saying for the last year. And that’s because he knows full well that we don’t want what he’s been selling for the last year. So Governor Romney may dance around his positions, but if you want to be president, you owe the American people the truth.”
—President Obama in Denver, Colorado, today
I couldn't agree more. We deserve the truth from those who claim their heart's delight is hoping to serve us as President. We deserve understanding, respect, and compassion. You have shown none of the above. You apparently even think that Seniors are so avaricious, so selfish, that we'd sell out our children and grandchildren. You're projecting again, Governor.
Millions of Seniors aren't willing to sell out their children and grandchildren to your vampire economics that feeds off the middle class and working poor while giving more to your favorite top percenters.
We're not willing to sell out our children and grandchildren by buying into your Medicare shell game that promises everything while delivering nothing but more hardship.
And we're not willing to sacrifice up our grand babies' Big Bird so you can keep off shoring jobs while enjoying your tax havens.
In other words Mr. Romney, we find your behavior vile, self serving, and amoral, with no thought, respect or consideration given to the American people.
You see, we know what your values are. We know what you'd do. The choice could not be clearer.
Yep, you'd cut funding for PBS while supporting continued tax subsidies in the billions for the oil industry. The thing is Big Bird's home, Sesame Street, is a real job creator. And that's just one show on PBS. Your sorry ass lie of a plan would cost thousands of Americans their jobs. We know, they're only American Jobs. Surely the jobs could be done, if not better, a hell of a lot more cheaply in China, right?
After all, you do seem to love creating jobs in China.
You're a liar, Mr. Romney and you don't care who you hurt. Even Oscar the Grouch knows better than that.
