Senator Jon Tester (D) and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee hit Republican Congressman Denny Rehberg double hard for suing the Montana Fire Department and the city of Billings for a fire that happened on his property resulting in damages.  Here's the ad from Tester's campaign:

Jon Tester: I'm Jon Tester and I approve this message.

Tim Bergstrom, Retired Billings Firefighter: Congressman Dennis Rehberg sure doesn't take responsibility for anything.  When a fire broke out on his land, Rehberg sued the city for damages even though the land was undeveloped.  The lawsuit was dropped because it had no merit but not before costing us thens of thousands of legal fees.  Which should've been spent on libraries and police instead.  Congressman Rehberg needs to start taking responsibility for his own behavior because Montanans are paying the price.

Pretty strong stuff I must say.  Senator Tester has been proudly endorsed by the Montana Fire Department:

The ads effectively portray Rehberg as a selfish, wealthy jerk who is all about costing Montanans money to pay for his property damage.  Rehberg is the 62nd wealthiest member of congress and he certainly could afford to fix the property on his own home instead of going after the very people who put out the fire and saved his property.  Rehberg is a member of the Tea Party caucus and just like any other teabagger, Rehberg hates firefighters and teachers and will do whatever it takes to dismantle crucial programs like the fire department.  Stand up for firefighters and please help Senator Tester win in November:

Now here's the ad from the DSCC:

Narrator: Wild fires.  The destroy homes and lives.  Firefighters put themselves on the line everyday but instead of thanking them, Congressman Dennis Rehberg filed a lawsuit against the fire department blaming firefighters for damage on his property.

Newscaster: Attorneys for the city of Billings say it cost nearly $21,000 to defend the magic city against a lawsuit filed by Congressman Denny Rehberg.

Narrator: Dennis Rehberg.  He's for himself.  Not for us.

Powerful stuff, huh?  Senator Tester has been endorsed by the Montana fire department whereas Rehberg, who is the 62nd wealthiest member of congress, is trying to bankrupt  and dismantle the very people that put out the fire and saved his property.  Then again, what do you expect from a member of the Tea Party caucus.  Stand up for firefighters and help Jon Tester win in November:

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
