Today Millions of Venezuelans went to the Polls in what may be the biggest election in their history. Estimates according to one head of elections stated this was the biggest turnout ever for the country. The candidates are Socialist Hugo Chavez and Centrist Henrique Capriles
So far all the polls have closed and everyone has voted.
A few exit polls have emerged that give Henrique a lead of 51.3% over Chavez's %48.06. This being South America polls tend to be erratic and flat out wrong and tend to have massive biases towards one side or the other. Nonetheless this poll may indicate how close the race actually is.

5:43 PM PT: 7:45 PM - Both candidates have sent out requests for calmness and peace as Venezuela waits for the results of the election.
6:17 PM PT: 8:15 PM - Latest news reports seem to indicate that some voting booths are still open. Voting was supposed to end officially at 5:30 pm. High voter tournout may be keeping some open some 3 hours later.
7:49 PM PT: 9:40 PM - Early results are showing Chavez with a lead of 54.3% over Capriles 46%.
