Envision a political campaign tactic to steal your opponents popular policies -- then lie and say your opponent does not support those policies --- then claim them as your own.
Romney did not just "shift to the center" and Mitt did not just "Etch-A-Sketch" a new Mitt. Romney is outright stealing Obama's Policies, lying about Obama and claiming Obama's policies as his own.
I would not call Romney a "policy thief" if Romney had held the positions he now touts before now -- but -- because Real-Romney contradicts Thief-Romney, I say Romney is stealing President Obama's popular policies, lying about Obama, and claiming Obama's Policies as his own.
For the last 7 years that Romney's been running for President, through September of this year, Mitt has been absolutely against the same President Obama's popular policies that Mitt now claims as his own.
Apparently, Romney's people looked at polls and told him that President Obama's policies are popular, so Romney stole them and now claims them as his own.
We first saw Romney trying to steal Obama's policies and make them his own with the Auto Bailout ---
Real-Romney wrote: "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt"
Then - when it was clear the Auto Bailout was popular in MI, WI, OH & the rest of the country:
Thief-Romney: President Obama took my (Romney's) advice so Auto is alive - yeah me!
On Tax Cuts
Romney decided to steal President Obama's idea of not giving Tax Cuts to the wealthy.
Real-ROMNEY:
"I said today that we're going to cut taxes on everyone across the country by 20%, including the Top 1%. So that's number one."
In February 2012 in GOP Debate Romney
Thief-Romney:
Ann yesterday was at a rally in Denver and a woman came up to her with a baby in her arms and said, "Ann, my husband has had four jobs in three years, part-time jobs. He's lost his most recent job and we've now just lost our home. Can you help us?"
And the answer is, yes, we can help, but it's going to take a different path. Not the one we've been on, not the one the president describes as a top-down, cut taxes for the rich. That's not what I'm going to do.
In Oct 2012 Debate
But that
is what Romney plans to do, Romney's plan, as he said in February, calls for Tax Cut of 20% for the Top 1% on top of Bush Tax Cuts being made permanent.
On Iran:
Romney has stolen President Obama's Foreign Policy in dealing with Iran. Specifically, Romney is stealing Obama's current policy whereby the US Navy has aircraft carriers in the Gulf and the Mediterranean. But, Romney is lying and pretending that President Obama's Iran Policy is not really Obama's Policy --- but rather Romney's Policy.
In September 2012
NPR: the United States this week launched the largest ever military exercise to rehearse finding and destroying sea mines. U.S. brass has said it will continue to maintain an aircraft carrier strike group in the Persian Gulf. There also is a second carrier strike group in the Middle East located in the Arabian Sea.
Sept 20, 2012 on NPR
In October 2012
Thief-ROMNEY:
"I will restore the permanent presence of aircraft carrier task forces in both the Eastern Mediterranean and the Gulf."
Oct 8, 2012
On Syria:
Romney is also stealing President Obama's current Policy for Syria and trying to make it his own. Simultaneously, and in typical Thief-Romney form, Romney is lying and pretending that Obama's Syrian Policy is not Obama's Policy -- but rather, Mitt's Policy.
In July 2012, Reuters reported that President Obama Administration is supplying the Rebels in Syria with: money, non-lethal aid and some small low-grade weaponry (meaning no surface to air missiles and that sort of thing).
Obama's order, approved earlier this year and known as an intelligence "finding," broadly permits the CIA and other U.S. agencies to provide support that could help the rebels oust Assad.
The White House is for now apparently stopping short of giving the rebels lethal weapons, even as some U.S. allies do just that.
July 2012, Reuters News
Guess what? Mitt says that's his policy, not Obama's but his own --- and for some reason, even though Mitt is stealing President Obama Syrian Policy, Romney calls President Obama's Syrian Policy a failure.
Thief-ROMNEY:
I will work with our partners to identify and organize those members of the opposition who share our values and ensure they obtain the arms they need to defeat Assad's tanks, helicopters, and fighter jets.
We should be working no less vigorously through our international partners to support the many Syrians who would deliver that defeat to Iran, rather than sitting on the sidelines.
Ok, wait a minute ... hold the phone. Did you catch that 'lie' implying President Obama's Policy is "
sitting on the sidelines?" Yeah, Romney steals President Obama's Policy then accuses Obama's Policy to equal "
sitting on the sidelines."
Also, and more importantly, did you catch that part of Thief-Romney's Syrian Policy to arm the Rebels with lethal weapons that could take down fighter jets?
Seems Romney slipped part of his warmongering policy into his stolen Obama Policy - or - Romney flubbed his "Steal Obama's Policies" script.
Here's why that slip from Romney is extremely important:
If: Romney gives Rebels US Weapons that are so lethal they could take down a fighter jet,
and if: Those US Weapons fell into the arms of 'terrorists'
Then: Those terrorists could use those US Lethal Weapons, that Romney would give them, to shoot down Israeli airline(s).
(Let that sink in)
I guess Romney will know which Rebels share our values by those Rebels wearing "
I heart Tax Cuts 4the Rich" shirts and those lethal US Weapons he'd give them would evaporate if they fell into the hands of a 'terrorist'?
Palestine & Israeli
Romney totally stole President Obama's 2-State solution between Israel and Palestine. Again, Romney stole Obama's Policy and says he, Mitt, supports a 2-State solution then lied saying Obama's 2-State Solution Policy is a "failure."
But, we know the Real-Romney has no intention of seeking a 2-State Peace Agreement because Real-Romney told us so. At a Fundraiser when Romney did not know he was being videotaped, he acknowledge that he, Romney, would be the failure on a 2-State solution as Romney admitted a Romney Policy would be: "kick the ball down the field."
Real-ROMNEY: "I look at the Palestinians not wanting to see peace anyway, for political purposes, committed to the destruction and elimination of Israel, and these thorny issues, and I say there's just no way.
And so what you do is you say you move things along the best way you can. You hope for some degree of stability, but you recognize that it's going to remain an unsolved problem. I mean, we look at that in China and Taiwan.
All right, we have a potentially volatile situation, but we sort of live with it. And we kick the ball down the field and hope that ultimately, somehow, something will happen and resolve. We don't go to war to try and resolve it.
On the other hand, I got a call from a former secretary of state—and I won't mention which one it was—but this individual said to me, "You know, I think there's a prospect for a settlement between the Palestinians and the Israelis after the Palestinian elections." I said, "Really?" And his answer was, "Yes, I think there's some prospect."
And I didn't delve into it but you know, I always keep open the idea of, I have to tell ya, the idea of pushing on the Israelis?—to give something up, to get the Palestinians to act, is the worst idea in the world. We have done that time and time and time again. It does not work. So, the only answer is show your strength. Again, American strength, American resolve, as the Palestinians someday reach the point where they want peace more than we're trying to push peace on them—and then it's worth having the discussion. Until then, it's just wishful thinking.
Sounds to me like Romney
failed in negotiating a 2-State Solution months ago.
Thief-Romney now touts President Obama's Policy as his own Policy and, again, Romney lies about Obama while claiming Obama's Policies as his own.
Thief-ROMNEY I will recommit America to the goal of a democratic, prosperous Palestinian state living side by side in peace and security with the Jewish state of Israel. On this vital issue, the President has failed.
On Killing Bin Laden
(2007) Real-Romney:
"It's not worth moving heaven and Earth and spending billions of dollars just trying to catch one person.
Thief-Romney:
"Of course I would have killed Bin Laden ... it was naive on the part of the president, at the time as a candidate, to say he would go into Pakistan,"
On Medicare:
It is no secret, Real-Romney wants Medicare to be a
Vouchercare system so that "the People's" payroll taxes get re-distributed to Insurance Companies to gamble on Wall Street.
In March 2012, 5 months before Romney picked Ryan, Ryan's VoucherCare=Medicare Legislation passed the GOP House. Ryan's Vouchercare Legislation replaced the words "premium supports" in exchange for the word "voucher."
In a Vouchercare setup, the individual (beneficiary) actually pays the doctor, hospital etc., conversely, currently, Medicare program pays the doctor, hospital etc. directly.
It's important to note, under Ryan’s Vouchercare=Medicare Legislation that passed the GOP House, Medicare would have changed from a program that pays doctors and hospitals fees for particular services to a Voucher program where individual elderly would be paid an amount by the government that they could use toward private insurance premiums.
Real-Romney:
"Paul Ryan and my plan for Medicare, I think, is the same, if not identical -- it's probably close to identical."
August 15, 2012 Romney interview with Green Bay WI television
... but ... when Ryan failed to convince old people to screw over their kids and grandkids by voting in favor of Vouchercare ... Thief-Romney now says his Medicare plan is just like President Obama's
Thief-Romney:
[N]either the president nor I are proposing any changes for any current retirees or near retirees, either to Social Security or Medicare. So if you're 60 or around 60 or older, you don't need to listen any further.
And with regards to young people coming along, I've got proposals to make sure Medicare and Social Security are there for them without any question.
Sure ya do Mitt ... sure ya do ... and just what are your
proposals you have in store for us?
On Immigration:
Here is one more popular President Obama Policy that Romney has stolen and claims as his own.
January 2012
Real-Romney: "The answer is self-deportation, which is people decide they can do better by going home because they can’t find work here."
January 2012 GOP Debate
September 2012 - in a Univsion interview Romney would not agree to abandoning Romney's Self-Deportation Policy:
INTERVIEWER: "What you said is not very clear. On January 26 you told me that you were in favor of self-deportation. In a debate in the primary on February 22 you said that you thought that the Arizona model was a model to follow. Should the United States follow Arizona’s immigration laws? And in that same response from when you told me that self-deportation will be a solution, do you think that we’re going to self-deport 11 million undocumented immigrants? Are you going to deport them or not? I’m not that clear."
Real-Romney: "I said I’m not in favor of a deportation, mass deportation, a rounding up of 12 million people and taking them out of the country. I believe people make their own choices as to whether they want to go home and that’s what I mean by self-deportation ... I love legal immigration."
The interviewer pressed Romney on the Real-Romney Policy of using the Arizona Law as a model for the country:
INTERVIEWER: Is the Arizona model for immigration one we should follow for the whole country?
Real-Romney: "The reason there’s an Arizona law is because the federal government, and specifically, President Obama didn’t solve immigration problem when he came into office. And so states are doing their best to try and solve it state by state.
Now, however Romney has decided to steal President Obama's current policy that has nothing to do with Self-Deportation and nothing to do with the Arizona Law.
Thief-Romney: "The people who have received the special visa that the president has put in place, which is a two-year visa, should expect that the visa would continue to be valid. I'm not going to take something that they've purchased. Before those visas have expired we will have the full immigration reform plan that I've proposed."
"I actually will propose a piece of legislation which will reform our immigration system to improve legal immigration so people don't have to hire lawyers to figure out how to get here legally."
Naturally, Romney did not offer any specifics on any proposed legislation he "
will" propose. But, come on, we know Real-Romney's Policy: Self-Deportation coupled with Arizona Law as a model.
I think it's pretty clear Romney is stealing President Obama's popular policies and claiming them as his own. Like I wrote above, Romney's political campaign tactic is to steal his opponents popular policies -- then lie and say your opponent does not support those policies --- then claim them as his own.
In my opinion, the Press enables Mitt to lie and steal President Obama's policies say things like "Romney's policies are similar to Obama's" ... when the fact Real-Romney's policies are nothing at all like President Obama's polices ... the Real-Romney's policies are "severely conservative."
I really do believe that Romney is stealing Obama's policies and trying to con Americans into thinking that President Obama's popular policies are Romney's ideas as a campaign tactic ... which, in my opinion is part of what makes Romney a Pathological Liar.
