Please be nice. No politics. Wipe your feet at the door and do not drag in anything from outside. And please enjoy the critters, great and small.
Today's theme is being a Parent. My kids helped select photos. Do you know what hovers are? Let your mouse pause over a photo and I think you will see the secret message.
A lot of parenting is refereeing between the kids. ;-) Now that mine are 9 and 11, I ask them to work it out between themselves, or I put them both in time-out until someone coughs up an answer. Last weekend, there was a spoon in the icemaker.
My son loves legos. My daughter likes legos a lot. The cats love to re-locate legos. I wear slippers or heavy socks around the house for self-protection.
Cats & Legos:
Pecos in Helm's Deep, LOTR
Pecos v. Tie Fighter, Star Wars
No matter how we acquire our 2-4-footed-winged-feathered-furry children, the parenting is in the work to care for and raise.
It is a constant battle for older parents, I think. I had Legos before I had children. But I am not very good at sharing so I packed a lot of things away. Now my son thinks the bobbins from my Bernina sewing machine are perfect for some Lego Minifigure Purpose. I have counter-offered the off-the-shelf bobbins from Joanns.
My daughter is getting a bit of a barbie complex, and I am trying to show her how math is in our every day lives. Cooking, shopping, planning a vacation. And knitting, quilting, etc. She selected this LOL herself to share with us today.
My daughter selected this one too, but I am not sure what it means.
Parents need stress relief.
Are people this easy to put together? This is just so weird ;-)
for the inner geek. or the outer geek. whatever it takes.
Sometimes everything settles down, and we can lay in the sun and cuddle for a bit.
And we can all hope for children who find their own stuff:
Thank you to some random facebook friends for some of the photos, also.
