I offer my humble opinion below the fold of how President Obama can walk into the second debate, prepared with a few previous "severely conservative" quotes from Mitt Romney and the dates they were made, and crush Mitt Romney from the outset of the debate. The moment Mitt Romney denies a previous position and takes a moderate position (come on, you know he will, probably at the very beginning) on a controversial national issues, below is what I would deliver if I were President Obama.
But, on {DATE} you said to a Republican audience, {QUOTE OF ROMNEY’S PREVIOUS POSITION}. Now, I want to make a point here, and it’s an important point. Possibly the most important point of this election. When you are president, you are president of all Americans, not only those in the Tea Party. You cannot run for office telling one part of the American people your position on an issue, and then come tell the rest of the American people that you actually have the opposite, more popular position on the same issue. Being president involves making difficult decisions, decisions that will often be guided by a man’s principals and convictions. I can tell you that my presidency, from day one, has face enormous, difficult decisions, and I have often turned to my principals when making those decisions. In order to be president, you owe the American people an honest evaluation of what you truly believe about the issues so the American people can weigh the principals that will guide your decision-making on the issues that will affect all of their lives.
-President Barack Obama, in my dream second debate performance.
