Mongo is punching horsies in heaven - not that I believe there is one, but the alliteration works. :(
However, he IS reunited with Sheriff Bart, so that's good.
To say this diary schedule will be erratic for the next few weeks is the understatement of the last 5 minutes at least ;D, but I begin meeting with students the middle of next week to get them ready to register for their spring classes; I'll be getting to work at 7 am & not leaving until after 5:30 pm most days. There will be a diary Monday evening, but, as far as a "schedule" after that, my best advice is to check out my activity here, on Facebook, or on teh Twitter for diary announcements. Tonight's diary will be the last diary of this week. Clear as mud? Yes, this information will be on the test - HA! :D
It's time for "this day in history." On October 10, 1973, Vice President Spiro T. Agnew pleaded no contest to one count of federal income tax evasion and resigned his office. And, if we're not careful, this country will elect another tax cheat to the highest office in the land. Brett Favre is 43 today; here's a ditty just for him! ;D
It's time for Hump Day Evening SPARK. :D This person got their "calling 911" lessons from Senator McCentury's brother. OK, this is ridiculous; if someplace is making actual legal currency for these "people," "Beat" currency is l...o...n...g overdue! This poor thing is probably escaping its enclosure in a futile effort to find caffeine. Finally, this guy might learn a little patience - IN THE BIG HOUSE!
On with The Rachel Maddow Show...
"The Revision Thing" - Gov. Mittwit mucked up his party's "mommy parts" platform today & had to be reminded otherwise. Today's SPARK up is just the latest of a long long LONG line of "mishaps" about issues that had to eventually be walked back by some poor Gov. Mittwit surrogate & even Gov. Mittwit his own darn self. My, look how President Obama's aged in 4 years. Rachel thinks the "beltway media" actually isn't letting Gov. Mittwit get away with his latest abortion shenanigans. He also compared a woman's decision for birth control to painting a car. Whether or not the aforementioned car has a doggie strapped to the top of it remains a mystery. Rep. Kill Medicare As We Know It has a hell of a history on the abortion issue, too. Steve Kornacki's in studio to discuss revision. Gov. Mittwit's leading among IA men by 16 points; however, President Obama's got TWICE the women vote there. Mr. Steve thinks Gov. Mittwit's still basically trying to convince folk to vote for him on economic issues & just ignore the "cultural issues" stuff. Well, the frothing - at - the - mouth rabid right wing MENSA folk won't let him get away with that, I don't think.
"Word War II" - Tomorrow night's the VP debate, which I will be watching & not giving a tinker's damn if Rich Lowry sits up a little more straight in his chair, but all bets are off if Rep. Kill Medicare winks at any point. ;D Tomorrow night may or may not be Rep. Kill Medicare's debate - depending on who you talk to...INCLUDING HIS RUNNING MATE. Again, I don't call him Mittwit for nothing! President Clinton today commented about how much he missed "the moderate Mitt" & looked like he was having a damn good time. :D
"Word War II Part Deux" - President Obama predicts more "active" participation in the next debate. It's actually not all that uncommon for challengers to win first debates over incumbents. Stephanie Cutter is President Obama's deputy campaign manager & is doing her job in attempting to curtail the hand - wringing. I somehow can't see Rep. Kill Medicare "moderating" himself tomorrow night. Gov. Mittwit's the one running for POTUS; he's at the top of the ticket. The aforementioned Rep can kind of sort of be his killin' Medicare self if he wants to.
"American Grandstand" - Gov. Mittwit's using the story of the Navy SEAL killed in Libya quite a lot on the campaign trail now; the SEAL's mother wants him to stop using her dead son as a political tool. Gov. Mittwit's equating a dead Navy SEAL to his POTUS campaign. CLASSY! The Navy SEAL was not so impressed at the meeting. Rep. Daryl Issa opened up some hearings today to try to pin all the blame for the attacks in Libya on...well...just guess who. A Rep from UT - who's an actual Mittwit surrogate - made his feelings quite known. This guy also voted to cut funding for embassy security. Hypocrisy, thy name is MENSA.
