Arizona state representative Peggy Judd helped pass Arizona's new restrictive anti-abortion laws . She voted in favor of a number of restrictive laws that didn't manage to pass , even in the 'let's get state government between your legs' GOP dominated sessions these past two years.
This morning on a Facebook discussion Judd trotted out all of the hallowed pro life statements we are use to , explaining why she is also convinced that Mitt Romney is firmly pro life and how she, as a happy mother of five , knows all there is to know about the subject including why there should be no sex before marriage (interpretation: why doesn't everybody just understand how beautiful it is and quit wanting those icky abortions and quit worrying about 'the contraceptions', either don't have sex or just get married and have babies whenever god or your husband sends them).
But the following statement really raised my eyebrows. Judd stated:
" I would overturn Roe V Wade too, because safe and effective abortions can be accomplished in other ways now. This society has accepted them and doctors understand the benefit, when needed for reasons I stated above. "
So, what does that even mean? She is against abortion but thinks safe and effective abortions will be available without the one legal decision that keeps them somewhat legal and safe? Note that the AZ GOP essentially has restricted to the point of banning the use of RU486, the abortion 'pill' ,and effectively restricted the morning after pill, so what is Judd even talking about? ( for a synopsis on the AZ GOP position on that see

Don't worry, get rid of that nasty little Supreme court decision and the GOP will make sure it is still alright?
More GOP magical thinking when it comes to womens' health care and rights?
I am truly boggled at this new 'revelation' from the Republican wizards.
For those women who feel overwhelmed by all the talk about immodest subjects, don't worry your pretty little heads. In fact you don't even need to ask your husband to clarify it for you. Judd has zero chance of being voted out of office in her district.
