Yes, I know there was an ancient greek fellow, Aristotle, Plato, or Socrates, who was  famously quoted, complaining about "the kids these days", and how incorrigible they are, unwilling to learn, unwilling to behave, etc....making us think that things never really change.

Well, many things do change, and in our present-day society, we are fed instantaneous results, copious amounts of information and data, and non-stop bombardment of our senses.  We like bright flashy things, and have short attention spans, and I believe, even shorter tempers.  As population grows, and technology advances, more people are packed onto smaller land masses, people travel faster, and our decisions have graver and more immediate consequences.

I believe that we, as a society, are more aggressive, and more tolerant and accepting (or at least more used to witnessing) aggression, on a daily basis.

Please join me below the voMitt stain, for a little more....

Perhaps some of the old conventions about debates may no longer be in play.  We have always lived in fear of that one debate moment - that gaffe, that eye roll, that looking at a wristwatch, that sigh of impatience - that moment that history says lost the election for the candidate who did it.

However, these days, I think we are more accepting, and even more willing, to rally behind, and thus vote for, the aggressive candidate.  I think we are not only inured to the aggression, but actually welcome the assertiveness that is needed to shut down a serial liar.

Yes, certainly the "angry black man" thing is always in play, but I believe President Obama will be given alot of leeway to deal with Lying Mitt Romney in whatever professional way he deems necessary.

President Obama:  GO FOR IT!!!  (Rhetorically) KICK HIS FUCKING ASS!!!

Please help me help President Obama and downballot Dems!!!  Click it, and buy a great pro-Obama Capitalist Manifesto, which tears Ayn Rand, Mitt, and Ryan new assholes.  AND ALL ROYALTIES WILL BE DONATED DIRECTLY to, and to downballot contentious Dem races.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
