President Obama is a decent and highly rational person. Yet if he used some red meat tactics, rather than a strictly rational argument, he'd reassure people's subconscious needs--of a candidate who can protect them from the dark--and he would easily win the remaining debates.

To talk about Wall Street, Medicare and Social Security this way:
"The stock market has tripled since 2008 so no one can say I'm not a friend of Wall Street. BUT WALL STREET IS FOAMING AT THE MOUTH AT THE PROSPECT OF GETTING RICH OFF MEDICARE AND THE PRIVATIZATION OF SOCIAL SECURITY, and as president I WILL NOT ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN.
