I heard on the news today that Mitt Romney, if elected President would institute a means test to make certain those receiving help for the needy really do need it. But what we really need is a means test for the "job creators", Willard`s favorite Americans.
The easy way would be: Create a job, save your Bush era tax break. Outsource, or off shore a job, or lay off employees, lose your tax break. It`s very simple and certain, the way republicans want the tax code.
It is an easily verifiable fact that private enterprise is sitting of Trillions of dollars in cash, doing basically nothing with the money. They have been the beneficiaries of several tax breaks and loopholes in the last decade that have allowed them to amass this huge sum, yet the republicans keep pointing out there seem to be fewer jobs now. To illustrate the point, almost half of the so called "failed" stimulus package was tax breaks, insisted on by republicans to supposedly stimulate the business cycle. Yep, those tax breaks create tons of jobs alright, unfortunately they are the invisible non paying kind.
So I say if you are a “job creator” deserving of a tax break, then prove it! Quit waiting for the government to institute the perfect policy for you to create a job within. Then, by the same token, quit blaming the government for not creating the job you say you are better at creating.
“Job creators” have been sitting on the proverbial fence for the last 4 years now waiting to see which way the political winds will blow, demanding tax breaks, and public subsidies all the while, I for one am sick of their whining. Create the jobs or do not, earn your tax break, or write the check.
