Woah. Talk about rapid response.
After tonight's Romney gaffe/interesting word choice "binders full of women" during a response to a question women's equal pay for equal work (which Obama later absolutely CRUSHED), you may already know that 'Binders Full of Women' went immediately viral: hugely followed Twitter accounts, a cheeky Tumblr account, 40K Likes on Facebook within an hour, and even an OFA buyout of the hashtag "#bindersfullofwomen" (smart move).
But didn't you know that liberal Super PAC 'American Bridges', who partnered with the Jewish Council for Education and Research (the folks who brought you that amazing Wake The F*ck Up video) have already bought out the url http://bindersfullofwomen.com, and can you believe that the URL points directly to a damning article, "Bridge Briefing: Governor Romney and Female Judges", from his days as Governor?
Oh, it turns out Romney was full of it during the debate when he said he worked oh-so-very-hard during his time in Massachusetts to find oh-so-very-hard-to-find qualified females! You see, Governor Romney of Massachussets...
Appointed Mostly White Males to [the] Bench during his time as Massachusetts gov:
Romney Had Only Nominated Two Women And Two Minorities Out Of All His Nominations For Judgeships After Two Years In Office. According to the Associated Press, “But two years into his term, Romney found himself under fire for not nominating enough women and minorities to the bench. Of the 19 nominations made by Romney by early 2005, 17 were men and only two were minorities.” [Associated Press, 11/28/07]
Wait, wait...you mean Romney only found TWO qualified women in that BIG BINDER FULL OF WOMEN of his? Unconscionable! He must not have looked very hard! I mean, two women and two minorities doesn't even come close to 47%!
But there's more. Check out these article headlines, over at Binders Full of Women:
Romney Ended His Term With 18 Women Out Of The Total 65 Judges He Appointed.
Romney Passed Over “A Number Of Women With Lengthy Trial Experience” In His Judicial Nominations
The Women’s Bar Association President Was “Very Concerned” With Romney’s Judicial Appointments
Hmm. Glad to see our side have President Obama's back after tonight's debate. The man is in it for the long haul...
Obama 2008 - 2016 does have a nice ring to it. After all:
