It's simple.  Mitt didn't know any women himself.

The President could have simply asked, how many women partners were there at Bain?

Here's the answer:

A Happy Mitt Romney, at Bain Capital, Cutting Jobs, Making Money.....

Notice anything?  Like, no women?

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

Because Government does not create jobs he didn't want to give women an imaginary salary.

Also in Bain he only had the most qualified  he didn't need to pull them binders full to capacity with women to put there so people knew he had them too. See I have women, they came from the catalog I mean the binder

If translated correctly: three different age groups of young LDS women keep binders. Rmoney wanted binders, therefore, these binders are open to pastors. HIM.

Are these the rules for becoming proper LDS women? Are tests included? Are they graded? Are there essays? Are these binders a reference when the young women choose a profession? Sorry, silly me, the profession is stay at home mom, even if you have servants. If a young woman wants to go to school? Get married?

Are they used to test for a proper level of subservience?

      Do males have binders?

We need ex-LDS people to explain this to us. I'm off!

According to David Bernstein writing at the Boston Phoenix:

What actually happened was that in 2002 -- prior to the election, not even knowing yet whether it would be a Republican or Democratic administration -- a bipartisan group of women in Massachusetts formed MassGAP to address the problem of few women in senior leadership positions in state government.

They did the research and put together the binder full of women qualified for all the different cabinet positions, agency heads, and authorities and commissions.

    Mind the Binder - Oct 16, 2012

So, actually it's worse for Romney than just a lie:
--first, he has to admit that after all those years in business, he didn't know any qualified women (quite the isolated pig, that Mitt)
--second, it's demonstrably false that he asked anyone for such "binders"
--third, even if he had asked, his characterization in tonight's debate was so off-putting, that he probably lost any good will he might have gained had the story been true.

An injustice to one is an injustice to all.

I was looking through some of my Mom's old things, and found a funny pin.   It showed a little girl and a little boy without clothes on looking down at each other, and the girl said, "OH!!!  That's why you get paid more than me".  Not much has changed since my Mom's day.

We have four directors in our IT department of a large U.S. corporation (you'd recognize the name immediately) -- three men and one woman.  When the CIO was let go, the three men were put in charge.  We called them The Three Amigos.   It was quite noticeable to everyone, particularly all the women, that the remaining director, not coindentally female, was totally left out of the triumvirate of power.

Women are present only as tokens in the boardrooms of America.  It's the way things are done.  I doubt Mitt gives it a second thought.
