Some skeptics of Mr. Romney's $5 Trillion dollar plan are concerned that he has not indicated any specific, substantial cuts he would make to the budget. They accuse him of acting more like a magician, ready to pull a rabbit out of his hat after the election. That's not fair. It is more like the goose that lays the golden egg!
Gold right now is running about $1750. So if Mr. Romney does produce a goose that lays a golden egg each day, and the egg weighs one pound, that would be worth $28,000 every day! Such a golden goose could produce Mr. Romney's estimated fortune of about $250,000,000 in less than twenty-five years, so he knows whereof he speaks! Now, we can hear the skeptics saying, "who ever heard of a one pound egg?" But this is serious business, and we need to hear him out. At $28,000 dollars a day, it would take the goose that lays the golden (one pound) eggs almost 500,000 years to cover the $5 trillion in question. But Mr. Romney has a plan to do it in four years.
As Bill Clinton argued, do the math! The solution is obvious. All Mr. Romney needs to cover the $5 trillion in question is an army of 125,000 golden-egg laying geese, and he can cover his planned $5 Trillion dollar plan in just under four years.
Now admittedly, it's not quite that simple. 125,000 golden-egg laying geese don't like to live in cages--they're free range geese. So he'll need some land. And he'll need some facilities for collecting and processing all that gold. And he'll need to pay for security, naturally, because some of those 47% who hate America might try to swipe a goose or two. And those things--food, care, land, facilities, security--cost money.
Now it is true that Mr. Romney has not yet indicated sufficient cuts to pay for the maintenance of this army of 125,000 golden-egg laying geese. Until he identifies enough specific cuts to pay for the feeding, care, land, facilities and security for his army of 125,000 golden-egg laying geese, I will remain a bit skeptical of his plan.
How about it, Mr. Romney? What cuts are we going to need to make to pay for your army of golden-egg laying geese?
