By now everyone knows that a 31-year-old Pennsylvanian, Colin Small, is under arrest in Harrisonburg, VA, charged with 12 felonies related to election fraud and one misdemeanor obstruction of justice. Small was employed by Pinpoint, a voter registration firm under contract with the Republican Party of Virginia. Small was observed tossing completed voter registration forms into a dumpster.
Now, another case has popped up that suggests more voter registration forms were destroyed.
Details below the mating dolphins.
Here's the story from Not Larry Sabato:
This morning I had a chance to interview someone who I will identify for now by her first name. Lucy is a student at James Madison University, and she comes from the Northern Virginia area where she was registered to vote. About 2-3 weeks ago, Lucy saw a voter registration table on campus when she was walking in between classes. She stopped to fill out a voter registration form to change her voting address from her parents house in Fairfax to her dorm address in Harrisonburg so she could vote in person on election day.
On Wednesday night Lucy went online to check her voter registration status and found out she had not been registered in Harrisonburg- meaning whoever was collecting her form on campus had not turned it in.
This is now a THIRD location where we are hearing about voters in this area being falsely registered. The forms that were collected from the dumpster on Monday that led to the recent indictment came from a local street festival and a registration at the local community college.
Meanwhile, the
LA Times is reporting more on Colin Small. First, recall that Strategic Allied Consulting was fired by the Florida Republican Party because the company was ignoring Florida voter registration laws in their voter registration efforts on behalf of the Florida GOP.
According to the Times, Colin Small worked for Strategic until they were fired by the party last month. However, after being "fired", he and his team were immediately rehired under a vendor paid for and supervised by the Republican Party of Virginia, which is why he was running this operation from the GOP Victory Office in Harrisonburg.
The Harrisonburg office where Small worked is also the VA headquarters of Karl Rove's Crossroads GPS and the office of Virginia State Senator Jill Holtzman Vogel.

This blog contains the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office press release. Let's point out that the sheriff is a Republican who ignored partisan politics to protect the voting process.
8:15 PM PT: UPDATE: Not Larry Sabato has now uncovered the fact that the organization for which Colin Small worked has offices in SIX Virginia locales, each of them population centers with lots of votes.

And, because voter registration in VA closed Monday, these offices now are working on "absentee voting."
8:16 PM PT: The six VA locales in which PinPoint has offices are:
CHESAPEAKE (CHESAPEAKE CITY)
SPRINGFIELD (FAIRFAX COUNTY)
BRISTOW (PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY)
STERLING (LOUDOUN COUNTY)
VIRGINIA BEACH (VIRGINIA BEACH CITY)
HARRISONBURG (HARRISONBURG CITY)
