President Obama has done some truly awe inspiring things in his first term. The one that will have the most impact on the future of this nation in a very positive way will be the affordable care act. 50 years from now that will be considered his crowning achievement. It will transform the lives of millions of people and in fact save lives for decades to come. People will look fondly on Obama years from now the same way that FDR still stands as an icon and legendary figure in the history of the country. Obama will share an equal place in history when the record is written and studied by scholors.
The killing of Osama bin Laden is another epic achievement. That achievement will only grow stronger and more important over time.
Allowing gays to serve openly in the military is another groundbreaking achievement for president Obama. I still remember the day he signed that bill into law and slapped the table saying, "it's done".
Saving the auto industry, reworking the way student loans are handled in this country is an epic achievement that gets little mention in the press but is worthy of accolades from all quarters.
Ending the war in Iraq with dignity. Respecting our troops and the families they love. The treaty with Russia that will reduce nuclear arms and proliferation world wide was an important and historically significant victory for the whole world.
Lilly Ledbetter. Dodd/Frank. I could go on for hours on what Obama has achieved. He did it under brutal hostility from the opposing party.
He is a tremendous, powerful, thoughtful, fair and honest leader. I have the utmost admiration and respect for him and what he has done for this nation.
He brought us back from the brink of complete and total economic devastation. That in and of itself should have all Americas proud to have him as our commander in chief and president.
I could list so much more.
If your have anything to add that has effected you personally please add those thoughts in the comments.
Thank you.
