If you drive by the Church in the Valley in Leakey, Texas; you'll see that its marquee reads, "Vote for the Mormon, not the Muslim! The capitalist, not the Communist!
Needless to say, it's causing quite a stir in this Hill Country town.
The Church in the Valley is run by Pastor Ray Miller. Miller declined an interview but did say the sign was solely his idea. He said he changes the sign weekly and this isn't the first bold statement to be displayed.KENS-TV in San Antonio did a story on this two days ago. Watch it here:
The pastor said he feels strongly about the upcoming presidential election and feels the message on the marquee speaks for itself.
As you can see, this church wears its politics on its sleeve. The sign on the front reads "Christian Patriot Conservative Headquarters." However, the current sign on the church's marquee is highly illegal. By endorsing Romney in capital letters--literally--Miller appears to have run afoul of IRS regulations barring churches from actively supporting candidates. If the IRS hasn't paid a call on Miller, it needs to soon.
