I know that you guys are the experts, but I would like to present some ideas since we are now on the eve of the last debate and in the final stretch of the campaign.
Over the last four years the White House communications office did a poor job promoting, showcasing and celebrating the many policy successes the President achieved.
Why this happened will always leave me stumped. Let me give a few key missed opportunities:
A gigantic Welcome Home parade in Washington D.C. for the returning Iraqi troops and veterans.
A tour of college campus promoting the new insurance policy to include young people on their parents health insurance and promotion of the interest reductions in college loans.
A nationwide tour promoting individuals with preexisting conditions who are now covered because of the Affordable Care Act.
A tour to the areas around the country where new bridges and highways are being built and repaired.
Unfortunately, these events never occurred which is one reason why both supporters and opponents of the president know little of the Presidents record of accomplishments!
For the remaining two weeks of the campaign the President should claim success and celebrate his record! Yes, there are still problems and issues but why should the president not celebrate where we are today four years after the beginning of the Great Recession?
The U.S was sinking like a ship in 2007, the president stabilized the ship and now he’s ready to sail forward with a stronger and more productive country!
Although some of these accomplishments have been used on the campaign trail, many have not, so here they are:
Record low inflation
Record low interest rates
A Stock market that is now at record heights above 13,000,
Creation of more jobs, regaining all the 2007-2010 losses
GM and Chrysler now make record profits
New highways, bridges, energy plants throughout the country
Tracking down and killing Osama Bin Laden
Higher car mileage standards
The near complete elimination of the top Al Qaeda leadership
The end of the Iraqi War
Ending of the reign of terror by the Dictator Kadafi, so that Libyans can now have freedom.
Hope has led to real change we can believe in!
Tomorrow:
Watch for Memo #2: 10-4 A Strategy for the remaining two weeks!
