Christopher R. Tolhurst likes to sit outside Planned Parenthood apparently with posters decrying his opinion of women receiving reproductive care. Apparently he so upset one woman that her father returned with her and a confrontation ensued.
Ted A. Clair, 48, received seven stab wounds to the abdomen and neck, police said. His daughter, Kailah L. Clair, 22, received small cuts to her right hand and a bruise to her right upper arm. Christopher R. Tolhurst, 54, received bruises and swelling to the left side of his face.
Tolhurst and Kailah Clair were treated and released, police said, but Ted Clair was hospitalized with serious injuries.
All three are residents of Grants Pass.
Apparently this "pro-life" advocate was a menace to the neighborhood:
Neighbor Charlotte Cook said the protester would accost people coming and going through the area.
"It was an accident looking for a place to happen," she said.
Cherie Adams said he would yell obscenities at her when she walked past him, and she changed her route to work.
"He's been out there for months," she said. "He's screaming at people.
"I had a feeling something like this would happen."
