As reported by Cincinnati Enquirer Reporter Barry Horstman
In an effort to convince the world that many if not most Republican politicitons are stupid:
Under Secretary of State Jon Husted’s sent absentee ballot applications to nearly 7 million registered voters across Ohio, more than 800,000 people so far have asked for but not yet completed an absentee ballot for the Nov. 6 election.
"By state law, provisional ballots may not be counted until at least Nov. 17. That means if Ohio's electoral votes would be decisive in the race between President Barack Obama and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, the state could keep the nation in suspense for several weeks after the election."
I have got to believe the logic went something like this:
Republicans do better with absentee voting so let's encourage absentee voting in Ohio so that we can win the elections.
And what is the chance that Ohio's EV are not important?
Fortunately North Carolina is going to go for Obama so you all can rest easy.
