I haven't written a dairy in a very long time. I have always believed in Obama's Healthcare. Unfortunately for me, my hospital is almost certainly outsourcing my job.
Please follow me below
I am an RNFA, which is an RN First Assistant in surgery. I help the surgeon preform the surgical procedure. I have been in the Operating Room since 1982 and have been an RN First Assistant since 1994.
Currently, my hospital is considering outsourcing my job to a Surgical Technician group. Most of these Surgical Technicians learned their craft in the Army. They then learned to become assistants after their national service to our country. They have formed their own company. Now I stand a great chance of losing my job.
My hospital will probably offer me a job as an RN at a reduced hourly wage.
So, I'll probably be able to work, even though at a reduced salary, which will impact my husband and me greatly.
I'm so very conflicted on how to feel. I want those military veterans to succeed, but I still have my own livelyhood to focus on.
I know Hospitals are, now, a business, but I didn't expect this to happen. The RNFA's have a very close relationship which the surgeon's requirements, and are much respected among the surgeons.
I don't even take the hospital's insurance package, because my husband's is better!
I'm angry, but feel guilty about my anger.
Help!
