Here are the latest figures out of Iowa.
Here are the cumulative numbers for the absentee ballot requests:
Dems 258,505 (44.04%)
Reps 181,212 (30.87%)
Inds 146,528 (24.70%)

Here are the new ballot requests since the last report:

Reps +6,101
Inds +6,715
Democrats trounced Republicans for the second straight day in ballot requests. The percentage of Republicans who requested absentee ballots actually fell seven hundredths of a percentage point since the last report. That's the second straight day that the Republican percentage of absentee ballot requests has dropped. Yay!
And now, here are the numbers for actual ballots cast:
Dems 192,435 (45.43%)
Reps 135,091 (31.89%)
Inds 95,586 (22.57%)
Oth 474 (negligible)
TOTAL 423,586
Here are the ballots cast since the previous daily report:
Dems +8,655
Reps +8,219
Inds +6,830
Republicans continue to follow closely behind Democrats in the daily report of ballots cast, but it's worth repeating that Democrats have led Republicans in ballots cast in every single individual daily report since early voting began.
Now there are two items of good news to mention.
First, the Iowa has updated its website with voter registration totals.
Here are the numbers for active voters:
Dems 621,401
Reps 626,508
Inds 688,992
TOTAL 1,936,901
Here are the new additions since the last report:
Dems +10,117
Reps +4,332
We are inching closer to victory in Iowa.
Now for the second item of good news. Iowa has same-day voter registration on election day! In 2008, there were 45,929 election day registrations. Same-day voter registration tends to help Democrats. There is also same-day voter registration in New Hampshire and Wisconsin.
