House minority leader Nancy Pelosi made her fifth appearance on Jon Stewart's The Daily Show in her campaign to rally Democrats to retake the House reports Lisa Mascaro, of the Los Angeles Times, in Of Romney, Pelosi prefers 'Mittology' to Obama's 'Romnesia.'
In response to Jon Stewart noting that few experts expect us to win the 25 seats necessary to retake the House, Pelosi retorted:
“That’s why we have elections,” Pelosi said.
But Pelosi’s sharpest zinger was aimed at Romney’s shifting positions, particularly on abortion rights, as both presidential candidates court women voters in the increasingly tight race for the White House.
“The president calls it Romnesia, I have my own, what I call Mittology,” Pelosi said.
“Shouldn’t I be the one thinking up these very clever things?” Stewart asked. “Let me just go write some laws.”
She noted the “awesome” power of the speaker position, one she agreed with Stewart can be more powerful than the Greek god Thor.
I'm hoping that suspicions that polls are under counting Democrats may be true, meaning that an unexpectedly large wave of Democrats may show up and pull all the Democratic levers giving us a pleasant surprise of not only winning the White House, and keeping the Senate, but winning back the House too!
That's my story and and sticking to it.
