I voted yesterday in Knox County, Maine, by absentee ballot. It's easy, it's painless, and if you're in a state where you can vote early, please do. I also found that no one was running for Probate Judge, so I wrote myself in. That was fun, too.
Look. It's a lot of fun to vote on election day, but let's face it: things can come up. I suspect that anyone reading this has made up their mind about whom to vote for in national and State/Commonwealth elections so voting early should be easy-peasy. However, don't forget your local elections and bond issues, and ballot initiatives. Look them up. Down-ticket matters!
I'm largely waiting out this election cycle when it comes to Daily Kos, because I am a very bad cheerleader think it's more important to be doing things in my community. However, I did want to say get out and vote, and do it early-- in fact, do it now. You've voted? Great! Help folks with mobility or transportation issues get out to the polls.
Get out in the field with us. Let's get out the vote.
