Martha McSally pisses me off. Her entire campaign is based on the theory that her military service entitles her to represent the people of AZ-02.
I've got nothing against veterans. Hell, I'm a veteran. In fact, I'm a retired US Army Warrant Officer who served for 27 years.
But here's what frosts my ass about McSally: Every time I see one of her goddam commercials, she's wearing a uniform. All military personnel, whether active or retired, are specifically prohibited from using the uniform to promoted political activities. McSally knows this. If she were a serving officer, her chain of command would snatch her up by the stacking swivel and stick Article 133 in her ear so fast her boots wouldn't even hit the hit the ground.
But she's retired, so there's no chain of command to hold her accountable. McSally knows this, too. She has made the conscious calculation that pandering to voters with a military fetish is worth more than her personal integrity. That tells me everything I need to know about her character.
If I ever see combat again, I don't want Martha McSally anywhere around me.
