Doppler radar map of the storm...The eye will pass over Wilmington, DE, then pass about 30 miles south and west of my house, which is near Reading on this map. It will turn North east of Harrisburg and then up through PA and New York State into Canada near Montreal...This is accurate as it gets as of 8:15 PM Sunday.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

About 15 miles north of Wilmington  Got a call that my township is voluntary evac.  Never had that before.  I am just hoping to have power through walking dead then I am okay.  Kindle has smut, phone is charged and kids have books and games.

So we got that going for us...

  •  Great stuff - Near Ottawa here. (0+ / 0-)

My Allentown PA friends taking no special precautions except loose stuff in yard. Hope they're right or lucky. Got a kick out of akmk's commnet above. I see he or she is from Alaska. The lower 48 thinks everythig stops at the Canadian border, and Alaska falls into that same black hole.

We've taken in loose stuff in the yard but we've left the wrought iron porch/lawn furniture out. It's dense, heavy, and presents nothing to catch the wind, at least at less then 100 mph or so. We're sure to lose power for awhile but there are worst things. And our home, a 240 year old stone farm house, should take this in stride with nary a creak.

end of row, about 3 houses outside the city line of fabulous Reading, PA, occasionally the murder capital of the world. We'll be OK, too...but I'm glad I didn't buy one of those new houses that don't even use plywood any more...

I've owned this place for over 15 years, and had storms and earthquakes, and never lost electric power for over 1/2 hour...BUT this thing is so huge, I jut put a few more gallons of water in the freezer and I have the charcoal grill ready to make coffee and lunch if necessary. We will be celebrating one of my dogs' 5th birthday on Halloween, storm or not.

Take care, everyone...come back when it's passed.

Yes, in the cross-hairs.  Figure I won't get much sleep tomorrow night as the highest winds look to be occurring overnight.

Have plenty of food, adult bevs, charged up electronics with car chargers for everything.

We've had large amounts of rain before - Floyd was around 9 - 10", so, not so afraid of the rain. Those high sustained winds really concern me.

Just got new roof - great test I guess!
