The Bush years were unprecedented for manipulating the country, driving us into war by fear mongering and lies.  Until now.  Romney has found a new class of quarantining the truth and telling us that two and two make five.

Back in 2005, I was involved in writing a song that came out of my outrage over the Iraq war and the lies that began it and perpetuated it.  The song was never released, but today seems an appropriate time to share it. So I uploaded it.  I hope we wake up as a nation soon.  Before the storm breaks.

I renamed it for this occasion - The Bush Romney Truth March

You want me to tell it but no words will fit
The truth’s a light indeed and we belong to it
They Bend it  - Twist it
And Keep the truth in quarantine

Do you wonder, Ever wonder
How we got ourselves into this mess
And I wonder, Now I wonder
When we agreed that we should be oppressed
Do the people,
We the people
Recognize the freedom that we've lost
An I wonder, Now I wonder
Are we willing to pay the cost

You ask me to buy it with no way to pay
The truth is lying deep and we'll all be the same
Let the Truth breathe
Find your wayout of your dream

We the people,
were the people
Fighting for a perfect union
And I wonder,
Now I wonder
If we lost our determination
Do you hear it, Do you hear it
Do you hear the distant thunder
And I wonder,
Now I wonder
Could it be the nation's anger

The Truth from lies, I should know
Cause I still think that two and two make four
You tell us five
And swear an oath  to prison growth
You say it's good that we are making war

Do you wonder, Ever wonder
How we got ourselves into this mess
And I wonder, Now I wonder
When we agreed that we should be oppressed
Do the people,
We the people
Recognize the freedom that we've lost
An I wonder, Now I wonder
Are we willing to pay the cost

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

  •  Also, we never yet had the freedom you imagine. (0+ / 0-)

Ever since the adoption of the Constitution, human rights have been abrogated by the law. But, it's getting better.

Slavery is no longer legal, the draft is only a threat, and there's a Convention on the Rights of the Child that's just awaiting ratification.

What I think we're seeing is the cons' last stand. They are getting desperate, but they are a minority.
