A statement from David "Dread" Hinds:

Four years ago Steel Pulse took a groundbreaking step by endorsing Senator Barack Obama of Illinois as the right choice to be the 44th President of the United States of America. Steel Pulse believed then as we believe now that President Obama is a person of integrity, intelligence and genuine goodwill.

As always, Steel Pulse voices our concern for love, justice, and the well being of all - especially those who are suffering and are in need. We look forward to the healing of the nation - moving beyond petty partisanship, because the US and world simply cannot afford to go back to the way things were.

As world citizens, we have a responsibility to act. Sitting on the fence is too dangerous an option. Thus we endorse Barack Obama for President of the United States in 2012 and urge our fans to join us in supporting his re-election.

Four more years of President Obama vis-a-vis four years of Romney is a no-brainer as far as Steel Pulse is concerned. Abstinence or voting for a 3rd party is not a real or honest option at this moment in time.

Consider that President Obama’s accomplishments were achieved under the most difficult of circumstances, including the immoral and unscrupulous polarization spearheaded by the misleading congressional opposition, and championed by the mass media’s artificial construct of negativity. Consider, too, that it is absolutely impossible to repair the eight years of severe damage inflicted by the Bush administration in a single four years term. And consider, finally, that Romney’s platform will take us back to the schisms of yesteryear; Do we really want to return to a policy that had the world in such peril?

When we compare President Obama to the opposition there is no doubt in our minds that he posses the judgment, the better platform and the superior intellectual qualities needed to assist him in the wide range of responsibilities that he must superintend.

Like we said back when we endorsed Obama in 2008, we must reiterate today that “This endorsement may be of little note or consequence, except perhaps that it comes from an unlikely source: namely, a Rastafarian Reggae Band." Some may see this as a matter of intellectual treachery. We regret that, and we respect their disagreement.”

But it behooves us to see just how unfair humanity can be. Twenty years ago when we became the first Reggae band to play at the White House the exuberance of pride and congratulations were unprecedented. Why then the continued personal attacks of today? Is it because of our choice?

History have shown that Steel Pulse has always stood tall for what we believe and will forever continue to adhere to the philosophy of H.I.M. who said:

“We must become bigger than we have been: more courageous, greater in spirit, larger in outlook. We must become members of a new race, overcoming petty prejudice, owing our ultimate allegiance not to nations but to our fellow men within the human community."

A Vote for Obama is a vote for the future.

Do the right thing by voting your conscience.

GUIDANCE EVERLASTING.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
