Standard disclaimer: Leave your loathing of meta, World of Warcraft, or community diaries outside. If you think we should be playing your MMO instead, start a guild and write a recruitment diary. Don't leave a comment here and then get all hurtful when it isn't received with flowers and candy. This goes double for people coming in to attack guildies over other diaries or comments - STAY OUT! Link to your recruitment diary is OK though. |
Standard advertisement: Wreck List is the Daily Kos World of Warcraft guild. We are Horde-side on the Garrosh server. To join, read this diary and visit the Guild web site to put in an application. Yes, you have to be Horde. No, you don't have to be hardcore - casuals, PvPers, and people that just want to hang out on guild chat are all welcome. |
More below the fold:
Yay, yet another after-the-storm-are-you-OK diary! But we have guildies that are still without power, and New England is still cleaning up and picking up the pieces.
Those of us out here on the East Coast, let us know how your experience with Zombiecane Sandy went. Or is still going, depending.
I have a Santiaga update. Apparently, even though Colleen asked the Maine Ethics Commission about directing people to ActBlue, ran the language from the request by the Maine Ethics Commission, and took the Maine Ethics Commission's advice word-for-word and even though the Maine Republicans were informed of this they still complained to the very same Maine Ethics Commission to try to get Colleen in trouble over ethics violations.
This went about as well as you expect. But isn't that just Arthas-damned typical of them? Well, it's some more free newspaper space before the election.
Here's Ninotchka with the Team Kaels raiding report:
Team Kaels hit our first bump in the progression road last week, with the fight against Elegon. We had a few movement and timing glitches, but the real difficulty on this fight is applying the right damage to the right target at the right time. Oh, and not dying. We did have a number of problems with not dying. Stupid explosions.
We did manage to avoid Sandy-related delays and outages. This week we're going to take a peek into the newly released Heart of Fear raid, where we get to squash annoying insects.
Next week we are unlikely to show much progress since our raiding will be suspended on Tuesday for some big political thingamajig. I'm going to be elections judging and running our precinct's results to the local board of elections, and a couple of other people mentioned doing literature drops and poll watching during our normal raid time. The great thing about being in a dkos-related guild is that everyone is really enthused when you say you'll be skipping a raid to work for a political campaign.

And here's Pamena with the Team RubiPam report:
Team RubiPam has been stymied by Hurricane Sandy, as both Rubidium and Mama were without power Tuesday night, and the rest of us felt our time would be better used improving our gear a bit more than trying Stone Guard without them. We hope to try tonight, as at least Mama is back in game at full power, but we haven't heard from Rubidium, so prognosis is still cloudy.
The Saturday Night Massacre has been going strong, although we kill the Sha so quickly now, we are done after 15 minutes and wondering what to do with the rest of our Saturday night. A few of us did the LFR last Saturday, and I hope more people will be geared enough (item level 460) to get at least 10 guildies into LFR this coming Saturday.
I urge those people who are taking their time gearing up to concentrate on the rep grind - it's the only way you'll be able to use those valor points you're getting in heroics, as the gear is available only when you've gotten the faction rep (of the faction offering the piece) up to revered. And if you don't try to do every faction every day, it's not so bad. Some of the quests are actually fun! Also don't be afraid to do random dungeons, either normal or heroic - this is not like Cata, they are not too difficult in heroic and a lot of the fights are interesting and fun. I've had mostly very good experiences with pugs, so even though I know there are bound to be some bad groups out there, go for it! Worst comes worst, you just drop group and regale guild chat with how horrible the group was!
Hyunkel has posted on the web site about organizing Challenge Mode dungeon teams, which sounds like a lot of fun, so anyone interested in trying that should check out his thread and/or talk to him in game.
Still having a great time with the expansion, as I think most people are!

Those of you working on starting up more raid teams, please post a report in the "Stuff for..." thread on the forums or email me if you want your raid team's report in the weekly.
And Mahuae's computer has nearly recovered so we have a Tab Eight Report:
That's what I have this week.
For the Horde!
