I'm hard at work making calls for OFA here in Florida on the auto-dialer, and skimming the news as I wait for the next call to connect. Taking a quick break because this article jumped out at me. After Chris Christie has demonstrated over the past few days that President Obama can work with Republicans, this news adds to confirm that Romney's claim that he can work with Democrats in Congress is pure malarkey. Democrats are poised to retain the Senate, and Harry Reid who has been a thorn in Romney's side ever since he said that he had it on good authority that Romney didn't pay any income taxes for 10 years, isn't letting up now with the election so close.
In a statement reacting to what he said are Romney's claims that Senate Democrats will work with him on his agenda, Reid calls Romney a "severe conservative" whose "far-right agenda" Democrats reject.
"Romney's fantasy that Senate Democrats will work with him to pass his 'severely conservative' agenda is laughable. In fact, Mitt Romney's Tea Party agenda has already been rejected in the Senate," Reid says, listing GOP policies Romney has embraced that the Senate has voted down, including the budget plans offered by vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan, R.-Wis.
Reid to Romney: Senate Dems Won't Work With You
Thank you, Senator Reid for calling Mitt Romney out on his delusions every chance you can! Give 'em hell Harry!
Apologies for this short diary, but I've got more calls to make. So far today I've only made 130 calls and had 48 conversations. It's been a first so far as not a single person has told me they are supporting Mitt Romney. If you have time to make calls, we need all the help we can get here in Florida! We're doing everything we can to deliver Florida to President Obama on Tuesday!
