I know that that is a difficult assessment to make given the quality of the competition, but Eric Bolling said something so monumentally stupid on FOX yesterday that I find it hard to fathom that even he could possibly be dumb enough to believe what he was saying.
In an effort to attack MSNBC for airing a benefit concert for the victims of Sandy, the folks at Fox and Friends engaged in their usual conspiratorial palaver about how the whole thing was just a publicity stunt for the Obama campaign, blah, blah, blah. Nothing out of the ordinary there.
But one of the reasons Bolling used for criticizing the concert is that many of the people in New Jersey still don't have electricity and, therefore, won't be able to see the concert! Yes, you heard it right. MSNBC and all these musicians and singers shouldn't be raising money to help these victims if the victims themselves can't enjoy the show.
Hey, Eric, the concert isn't designed to give the people of New Jersey and New York an hour of entertainment; it's designed to encourage all of us outside the affected area to open up our hearts and wallets to help our fellow Americans who are suffering. Dumbass.
In fact, the whole clip is pretty instructive when it comes to showing how, even in times of crisis, the folks over at FOX News can't get past their own ideological biases.
And in answer to one of the questions posed on the clip: where were the conservative performers? Why hasn't Ted Nugent organized a concert to help those in need?
Watch Ed Schultz take Fox News on in classic style.
