This is the final sermon before Tuesday. Nothing we say or do can really change the maths, and unless Barack Obama drops acid on the national stage tomorrow, talking about Neptune coming to invade Peoria, I suspect that we may be cojaculating with a smile.
There is something that I had to get off my chest. Please forgive me if it offends.
FROM THE CHURCH OF INEFFABLE STUPIDITY:
Some of you may suspect that I may not be the biggest fan of organized religions. In fact, Some might suspect that I might hold an iota of disdain towards how corrosive and destructive they can be to the yute of this country.
If I have been unclear before, let me set the record straight, once and for all. I think that the best, biggest, and baddest example of how religions go awry and cause fear, loathing, damage, and even death is sitting right in front of us.
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Mitt Romney.
It was hard to figure out which parts of his schtick I hated most. That smug, entitled, "this is mine for the taking" attitude that pissed off the entire slate of GOP presidential candidates? Or the arrogant refusal to provide details on any substantive issue, be it how Bain fucked over so many individuals in the Colonies, while personally becoming very, very, very rich. Or, refusing to disclose his taxes, a somewhat related issue. Or perhaps, how from his very birth, he was taught that he would be that knight on the hill, saving America with his selection and appointment as president - a Mormon President, no less. Hell, his fucked up faith actually preaches that. Or perhaps it was the multiple images of his inability to connect on a human level, being as empathic as unrefined Galena. Who let the dogs out? I like firing people? You idiots are really fucking up the Olympics? Palestinians are poor because they are lazy and stupid (you can almost hear the "colored" accusation slipping out there)?
So many choices, so many examples.
The underlying problem, I think, lies smack dab in the middle of his faith. If you ever study what they preach, I mean really get into the nitty gritty of it, you realize that the Big Lie is part and parcel of their faith.
Just go back to 2008-2009. The LDS fuckers claimed that they spent a total of $2000 to undermine same sex relationships in California. In reality, they spent many millions, and they even trained thousands of foot soldiers to do their god's bidding, spreading rumors of impending doom and hellfire. The big lie, it seems, was their norm, not the exception.
When information began to seep out, about just how big of a lie it was, the LDS reaction was to shut down all questions, cooperation, and more.
In fact, the LDS response to inquiries on Prop 8 were EXACTLY how Romney dealt with any personal, professional, or policy question throughout this campaign. When he did take a stance, it was often to the right of Michelle Bachmann, a truly mouth-dropping standard, when you think about it. Abortion, stem cells, tax cuts, budget cuts, defense, in fact, any issue you can think of, Romney out-TeaBagged TeaBuggers.
Normally, today's media can be counted on attacking Obama and Biden for any perceived slight or misstep. Admittedly, on more than a few times, the media even pointed out some of the biggest whoppers that Team Willard spewed. But, in the face of an utter stonewall, denial, and refusal to answer, the media soon realized that they would never get a straight answer from him or his team. If patience, perseverance, and persistence were the key to winning, on this standard alone, Team Willard clearly beat up and outworked the media.
The media simply could not deal with someone who would be pissing on your leg and swear it was raining. Not even W or Cheney were so blatant, so ridiculous, so without an ounce of . . . honesty. And that is one tough comparison.
Just look to Ohio and the Jeep ads to see how thoroughly Willard disdains facts, honesty and integrity. Not only is he a liar, he is a shameless, thoroughly reprehensible, and without a shred of decency, liar.
In his stonewalling, lies, and deceit, Romney displays the true nature of Mormonism. Its 200-year-old White Horse prophecy is the key to Mormonism and their plan for their domination over America. Under this wild-ased theory, the US and A is imploding, our constitution "is hanging by a thread that a great White Horse Savior will rescue the United States."
Mitt Romney? Our savior? That's some scary mofo shit, batman.
This "Mormon president saves America" prophecy was "received" by founder Joseph Smith in the 1800s. Edwin Rushton, his top aide, eventually put it in writing decades after Smith's death:
Will the Constitution be destroyed? No, it will be held inviolate by this people; and, as Joseph Smith said, 'The time will come when the destiny of the nation will hang upon a single thread. At that critical juncture, this people will step forth and save it from destruction.í It will be so. And when the Constitution of the United States hangs, as it were, upon a single thread, they will have to call for the Mormoní Elders to save it from utter destruction; and they will step forth and do it.'
The Mormoní Doctrine and Covenants then describe a theocratic state in which LDS members give their property to the Church, which would redistribute the property, "from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs."
And Obama's the socialist?
The plan to force a Mormon theocracy upon the US began in 1834, when Joseph Smith led an army to march on Independence, Misery in order to redeem Zion. Today, the Elders have anointed Mitt as their theocratic leader, and have assigned him that role as savior. I really think that they and he actually believe it. Much like Michelle Bachmann believes in the crazy shit that forms the basis of her faith.
Dreams (god telling them what to do in many situations), secrecy, aliens, multiple heavens and at all costs, lies to protect their faith and their plans from exposure - this is the real mormon faith. Romney, a bishop of this cult, is the perfect embodiment of it. He lies with such ease and practice because that is precisely what his religion does. All the time. He was taught from birth, that lying was proper, especially to outsiders. He was told from his yute, that he was the chosen one, and he would be the leader of us all. He is convinced that his campaign was invincible. Just look how he treated so many on his path to the nomination.
Romney believes. And his biggest problem is that he really believes.
I feel for mormons. I really do. They are as bad as flat-earthers, practitioners of faith healing, or deniers of evolution and climate change. Their kids are brain-washed from an early age, and huge societal pressures that instill their crazy ideas start when the kids can talk and walk.
Like other cults and religious groups, they truly believe that they are entitled to lead this country. That they will save this country from itself. That this office is theirs for the taking. And that Romney is their chosen leader.
What scares the ever-loving, tap-dancing christ on a saltine cracker, shit out of me is how close they actually came in this election.
