I want a President who will show up.

I want a President who will push, shove and kick the federal bureaucracy into action when the oceans do in fact rise and flood our leading cities.

I want a President who gathers as much information as possible before announcing terrorist activity instead of relying on a color coded graphic.

I want a President who instinctively reaches out to hold and reassure those who are frightened and distressed.

I want a President willing to give the benefit of the doubt to a challenger, once. And then tear him a new one the next time he tries to pass off a lie as the truth.

I want a President who is smarter than I am. Who thinks, reads an occasional book and explains complex issues in multi-syllabic words that he assumes Americans can understand.

I want a President ready to confront some of the hard issues, again. Climate, privacy, marriage rights, campaign finance reform, immigration, healthcare.

I want a President who trusts me enough to figure that I was listening to what he said the last time and will know if he is not saying the same thing this time.

I want a President who will bring some sparkle to the White House and some pride in our First Family. And a dog who will never be asked to ride on the roof.

I want a President who is welcomed overseas by our allies and our foes, one out of friendship and the other out of respect.

I want a President who will give me back that lump in my throat that I felt as a child when I pledged allegiance to a flag and to the nation for which it stood.

I want a President whose name is Barack Hussein Obama.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

You can add a private note to this diary when hotlisting it:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary from your hotlist?
Are you sure you want to remove your recommendation? You can only recommend a diary once, so you will not be able to re-recommend it afterwards.
Rescue this diary, and add a note:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary from Rescue?
Choose where to republish this diary. The diary will be added to the queue for that group. Publish it from the queue to make it appear.

but if I am honest with myself he kind of said in his campaign what he do and he did those things.

I want a POTUS that is just honest with me. I bet if I lied to you we wouldn't be friends for very long. Why is it so hard for a politician to tell me EXACTLY what they think?

but if somebody walks up to you and tells you they lost everything, I can tell if your reaction is genuine. Or if they lost their job. You name it. I just know. And I think Obama has that. I don't often think most folks I see on my TV care. I know Obama does. And that clearly matters to me.

Online/Remote/Virtual Phone Banking Links for Election 2012

Phone Banking Guidelines - Please read this.

Our list is targeted at available resources that allow, for example, Californians to phone bank for close races in Ohio, Florida, Virginia, and other battleground states even when online phone banking is not provided by the campaigns.  The new tool is remote/virtual phone banking.

Many campaigns don't have online phone banking like you might have experienced in the past for the Obama-Biden Campaign, which is one click away to a script and list of voters. Please contact the following Democratic campaigns that use a variety of alternative resources including Facebook applications and dedicated software.  Volunteers can log on from inside or outside the state or Congressional District.  Some campaigns will email PDFs of names and numbers to interested political activists from all over the country.  Read the directions carefully for each campaign.

Let's work hard for the next few days and on to victory on November 6th!

Call out the vote!  Sign up to call voters from home for bold progressives like Alan Grayson and Elizabeth Warren between now and election day.

Click onto tab "MAKE CALLS" on the top of page.  If registered at site, it will take you to phone banking page that has the script and list of names to call.

If not registered, it asks you to register.

Sign up at the DCCC volunteer page to make calls from home.  Complete a short form with your email, first name, and other optional information (last name, city, zip, state, and phone) and then choose the checkbox by "Call voters from home."

A DCCC staffer will make contact via email to explain the process and to register you.  Click this link for more details.

already. Patriot Daily News Clearinghouse has asked people to publish it a lot. Comments, diaries, whatever.

The more eyes the better. Cedwyn used it in a diary, Jan F, Bubbanomics, and I think PDNC herself.

If you want me to, I will post the html code for it, but I do not want to hijack your excellent diary, which is a beautiful and moving prose poem. A beautiful use of anaphora and internal homage to Obama.

Ronald Reagan started dumbing down America. It got worse with GWB. I'm hoping that President Obama is setting the new standard going forward. Go Susan! ; )

I would tip you, but the man took away my tips.
