can concentrate on helping those affected by Hurricane Sandy and by Republican obstructionism on the economy.
I have many family members back East affected by Sandy, and they need concentrated effort by PBO, his cabinet, and the Congress.
More below the fold
My daughter and our granddaughter live with my daughter's mother on Roosevelt Island. During the storm, the East River crested about 13 feet above normal, washing over the walkway overlooking the Upper Eastside. The lighthouse at the northern end of the island was flooded. Fortunately, they only lost power for 12-14 hours. My daughter is still not back to work as the schools remain closed.
My aunt and uncle are in their 80's and live on the water on Oyster Bay. My uncle had a health crisis during the storm and is now in the hospital. My aunt has a home health aide, but they still rely on their emergency generator as power and landlines are still down on Center Island. My four cousins and their families are in such Towns as Manhasset and Seacliff and are also without power. Gas lines at service stations are 'massive.'
My daughter left our grandchild at friends to volunteer at the Far Rockaway hospital, St. John's?, with a friend as she is a social worker trained in critical incident debriefing. After staying at the hospital overnight, she waited on a gas line for more than four hours to obtain gasoline.
My sister and her family live in Ohio. Yes, that Ohio. During the storm, all three children and their families lost power. In Ohio. Near Avon Lakes. The Avon Lakes where Romney conducted his magical mystery relief rally. At the time, Avon Lakes still had 75% of its families without power. Maybe Romney could have done something helpful for them at the time.
I think Romney should just resign, like they do in chess, so Obama can get on with his day job. Just saying, the defeat is in the cards, so just bite the bullet already.
