You might have noticed the ads that FreedomWorks have here. (Is that Armey the Foul-mouthed Dick's clown car, or is that someone else's?) Well, I did since I live in IL-12 now. (Yeah, I move a lot. Too much, actually.) And it says...

Vote against Steve Enyart on November 6!
See, he's naughty because he was appointed by ZOMG ROD BLAGOJEVICH CROOKED!!!! and he'll vote for ZOMG NANCY PELOSI LADY DEVIL!!!!!

One problem. You can't vote against Steve Enyart.

Because there's no Steve Enyart on the ballot.

His name is Bill Enyart.

Major General Bill Enyart.

And he's running to replace the retiring Unindicted Coconspirator Jerry Costello for the IL-12 district, extending from the Metro East to Cairo through Carbondale. He's running against Jason Plummer (R-Duhhhh), an "executive" in the family lumber business. I got a couple of his mailers this week - even though the dark money groups are taking whacks at Bill Enyart for supporting Obamacare, he has President Barack Obama - I'll repeat that for everyone. President Barack Obama - featured very prominently in his mailers, on both sides in case you didn't get it.

The job he held where he was appointed by Rod Blagarglebargle? Adjutant General of the Illinois National Guard. You know, that hotbed of Chicago cronyism, and how did someone from Belleville becaome part of the Chicago machine?

So yeah, vote "against" Steve Enyart, but vote for Bill Enyart, who is worthy of your vote.

FreedomWorks FAIL.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
