It's not just the place you get to when you keep digging. It's not just one of the names Mitt throws around when he wants to rattle the saber.
Does Mitt know what China really is?
Meaning no offense, I like to say that there is a dragon awake on the other side of the world. It's big and stinky and Red and it's name is China. China is the BIGGEST name on the list, besides our own. For now. If we hope to make it through the next century we damnwell need to figure out how we're going to be friends with them. Or at least friendly.
But China is different from the United States. Take our 300,000,000 Americans; then add 1,000,000,000 more people. Holy shit it boggles my mind. And it boggles my mind even more how in the green world 1.3 billion people could co-exist in a Democracy. Just as a thought experiment of course. For the record I have little blame for a China that fears democracy, as much as I love it, for the reasons I mentioned. 1,300,000,000 human beings.....Oy. And we tear ourselves to shreds every four years with 23% of that.
I know I'm rambling, but how much of that does Mitt grasp? Seriously. Except for the man's insufferable untrustworthiness, one trait of Mitt's disturbs me more than any other. One which he shares with the majority of his fellow Republicans. Mitt Romney doesn't understand the world. I don't think he even sees the world. Not really. Not as it is. Not as brothers and sisters of America. He sees our fellows upon our blue dot as the servants of America. As our chauffers and butlers, and our shoe-shiners. As America's plantation workers. And China is nothing more than the Crew-boss.
Honestly it scares me a bit that Mitt Romney is this close to the Presidency. Because hovering on the periphery of every conversation about war with Iran, is China. And he has continued his stump "currency manipulator" saber-rattling all the way through.
One day thing will come to a head withe China. If Mitt Romney doesn't bring that day about personally, given his rhetoric it's hard to argue that he wouldn't bring that day closer.
