I received this message from Senator Menendez and didn't see the information posted anywhere on DK. (If I missed it, I apologize.) However, it is important voting information for New Jersey residents, so here it is, after the orange calligraphy.
Hurricane Sandy hit hard here in New Jersey. Recovery efforts are underway, but it’ll take time. If you live in New Jersey, I hope you and your family are safe and your life is beginning to return to normal. Please know that President Obama and I met earlier this week to map out a plan for recovery in the wake of this disaster.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. We can overcome it.
I need you to help, right now, by forwarding this message to everyone you know here in New Jersey. We have to spread the word about how the election rules have been changed for tomorrow’s election.
Here are the options we need voters to be aware of:
Text “WHERE” to 877-877 to confirm your polling place. If, due to the storm, you are displaced from your home or cannot reach your regular polling place, you can vote at any polling site in New Jersey using a provisional ballot. Again, to find the closest polling site to you, just text “WHERE” to 877-877 and provide your location.
Until 3:00 PM today, voters can vote at their county clerk’s office.
For some, we know it may even be too difficult to get to any polling location. You can vote by email or fax. You may request a ballot online or by fax before 5:00 PM tomorrow and you must return it by 8 PM on Election Day tomorrow. Click here for your mail-in ballot and return it by fax or email.
Click here for a list of county clerk websites, fax and phone numbers.
Information is also available by calling 1-877-NJVOTER.
Click here to find your polling place and to learn about your options for voting by email or fax.
I know this is a trying time, and I promise you, your government will be there for you and your community, now, when you need it the most.
You can count on President Obama and me to continue working tirelessly to deliver the assistance New Jersey needs to rebuild.
Please help me with this last-minute get-out-the-vote effort to help New Jerseyans get to the polls tomorrow.
Thanks so much for everything,
Bob
